The story of MxPx begins in 1992 in the unlikely location of Bremerton, WA, where bassist Mike Herrera, drummer Yuri Riley and a guitarist known only as Andy began performing together under the moniker Magnified Plaid.

The teenage trio performed at churches, coffeehouses, community centers and parties, playing their own brand of power - pop/punk with sometimes explicit, sometimes-veiled Christian lyrics. They came to the attention of the Seattle - based (then California - based) indie label Tooth & Nail, who signed them and released their first album, Pokinatcha, in 1994.

Soon after their album debut, Andy departed and was replaced by Tom Wisniewski. With the change of personnel came a change of name as well - Magnified Plaid referred to a loud plaid jacket favored by the former guitarist, so with Andy's departure, Magnified Plaid became MxPx.

The band produced several more albums and singles for Tooth & Nail, while steadily building their fan base, before signing with A&M in 1998. Slowly Going The Way Of The Buffalo, their major label debut, came out the same year.

MxPx's latest album, Ever Passing Moment, came out in 2000....Read complete biography
